Game project for an unconventional game engine
Cancelled due to community issues and scope
Awhile ago, I decided to work on a big project for an OC tournament based on a popular webcomic.
The main map was based on the big prison that the various submitted characters inhabit.
My brother designed the basic layout, while I mapped it all out in Ultimate Doom Builder for GZDoom.
Gave me lots of insight and experience to the game engine's workings and the difficulty of getting 3D geometry to work in it.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel it due to community drama, and I probably bit off a bit more than I could chew with the whole project anyway.
Still, I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish.
Here are a few screenshots:
Start of map.
Upper shot of the map. The most difficult part of the map to edit due to the sector stacking involved.
The bridge on the second part of the map. A bit empty due to no enemies.
An empty talkshow area. There's meant to be a secret weapon behing the curtain.
